The Official Selections

The official selections have been made for this years High Deserts Shorts International Film Festival VII. 
With 28 official selections representing Comedy, Drama, Action, Animation and Horror/Sci-Fi, these films will be presented over Memorial Day weekend at the Pahrump Nugget Casino.  In addition to the films, there will an extensive amount of media coverage both through television, radio, newspaper, and online.
As the official selections send their final products in, the festival will continue to bring you up to date information and various links to everything each filmmaker has to offer.

Short Cuts Notice!

Short Cuts, which is a podcast in support of the HDSIFF, has been reconstructing it's workflow which includes having to upgrade their hosting service.  With the upgrades still in the works, the podcast will be back up and running weekly starting in February.  To catch up on past episodes go to the podcast tab and search under archives.

2012 Submissions Start in September 2011

Submission will be done through "Withoutabox".  The standard of films that are accepted will be of a high caliber as last year.

Just Finished Up

We had a great festival this year. 

There were 189 film submissions.  Only 40 were chosen. 

We had 10 filmmakers in attendance coming all the way from New York and Australia.  Our video conference with Larry Jordan was a great addition and like always, the after party was a great hit, giving all the filmmakers and festival staff adequate time to network, talk shop, and of course laugh.
