We are so very pleased to announce the return of the High
Desert Shorts International Film Festival of Pahrump,
Nevada for a third year.  

This event will take place on Thursday, November 6,
Friday, November 7, 2008 and Saturday, November 8, 2008.
The film festival is hosted by the Pahrump Arts Council and
is funded by the Town of Pahrump through the
Pahrump Tourism Advisory Board.

Thank you to Spotlight on Pahrump
for donating the cash prize award to Cindy Mortensen, the
winner of the 2008 poster contest.

The films pre-selected for the competition will be showcased
in the Events Center of the Pahrump Nugget whose
management has generously donated the space.

The entire town is participating.  The name was chosen in
2006 by open contest and the winner was
Steven W. Johnson.  

Our custom award design is "Reaching For The Stars"
created for us in 2006 by Lulu Brymer.  It has been dubbed
     "The LULU"

The final winner in each category, selected by a jury, will
receive a cash prize of $100; a custom award and a signed,
numbered, limited edition, commemorative poster
as will the people's choice winner,
selected by popular audience vote.
Decisions of the Judges are final.

Submissions for the competition must be complete at 40
minutes or less including credits and the  categories are:

  Drama; Comedy; Science-Fiction/Horror;
Documentary and Music Video.
